Why Water Treatment Is Essential ?

By Scott Rodgers

Water containing industrial, homes, hospitals and any other such organization's waste is called waste water. This water is highly contaminated and has various chemicals, microorganisms, germs, nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorous, soap foam, oil, grease, human waste and many more harmful substances in it.

Rain is an important part of water cycle by which earth's water comes back to earth. Initially it is very pure, but by the time it reaches earth's surface, it loose its purity and gets polluted with a lot of impurities. This water ultimately goes to other water bodies making their water more impure.

Polluted water can be made pure by treating the water. Waste water treatment is very critical because not only human being but whole marine life is dependent on it for their survival.

There are two basic reasons why you need treatment of waste water: first, to save the environment and second, to save your health. Treated waste water is excellent for the fisheries and it provides a good habitat for both marine plants and animals. And if you want to enjoy swimming in a river or lake, the purified water ensures that you don't get sick with various diseases after swimming.

Most of the people are not very concerned about waste water treatment until it hits home and impurities, bacteria and viruses don't pass through their faucets. The world's supply of fresh water is going down. Most of the diseases infecting the world are water-born.

Unbalanced distribution of fresh water is causing climate change and as a consequence of this change, some regions are becoming drier while others are getting wetter. This unbalanced distribution is because of improper use of water.

Water is the giver of life and it has no other substitute. So try to save every possible drop as every drop counts. Reuse the water wherever possible instead of wasting more water.

We all use water in such a way that it will never end but the fact is that most of the available water is not drinkable and can not be used for any other purpose also. Hence, to save life on this earth we need to save fresh water. - 29955
